i just edited my cyber pooch to make him look like afire gecko and give him boost his skills but, when i load a game with him already in nothing happens =[, do ineed to start new game?

i just started modding and ive been looking over the tutorials but found no help on this one, i edited sulik vic cyberdog etc .. in mapper and when i put them in dat critter folder i everytime i save i cant load em, saves error loading.

just wondering is it possible to make a char dual wield pistols? i dunno but copy the pic from right hand and have 2 right handed pistol pics? possible or too technical for me to understand, would be cool though.
