I seem to be stuck in the prison. I got the assignment from the guy behind the desk and talked to Gary but I can't seem to find anyone else to talk to. I also can't find the pdf file that other people have mentioned.
I think that everyone is giving Bethesda too much credit for ruining Fallout. Remember, Interplay are the ones behind Tactics and Brotherhood of Steel. The way I see it, Bethesda Fallout would likely be different if those two games did not exist, although they would have likely still watered it...

I started New Vegas a few days ago with the same stats. I took the Built to Destroy and Good Natured. I don't know which ending I'm going for this time, maybe a House or NCR.
To me the difference is that Daggerfall feels like there is a bit of life to it. I have not played Starfield but from what I have seen and heard there is no life to the game.
That would be too difficult for Bethesda. That would mean that they would have to coordinate their writers instead of giving them random portions of the map to do whatever they want with.
The rangers were working on taking out the northern slave trade. It's likely that the rangers were sent into the Den because Metzger or whoever would have been in charge likely would not have just stopped and I don't think Vault City would be dumb enough to try and tell the biggest faction...
