To be fair S2 had about as much in common with with WWII as Return to Castle Wolfenstien did. Laser rifles, Panzerkriels, Thors Hammer, and the coming expansion pack that takes place in post war 1947-48 Europe.
Very true and I've thought the same thing for a while now.
The thing is, war and strategy games are more popular in europe than they are in either the US or Japan. Hence, more strategy games get the green light in Europien firms.
