Well, if there are different endings, then you must be able to make different choices to reach said different endings. Which means that... hey! You alter the main questline! I don't think that's linear.

Wait, wait, wait.. If there is a linear main quest in FO3, how is there 9-12 different endings? Promblem solved.

First off... I'm new here, don't go on me too hard. I played FO2 a little bit, but had a spear and died and never played again (it was my cousins.) So I realize I can't really compare it to those games. But the only thing I see is that you are given the house, or you can destroy the city...
