Thanks for the help so far. I tried every suggestion, updated directX 9 libraries etc. But still no luck. The screen just stays black and all i can do is terminate Fallout 2. Any further ideas? Regards, Perks

Thats interesting. I switched to mode=5 and it was prompted that im running in compatibility mode (don't know why, i never changed anything there), so unticked run in 256 colormode (everything else was already unticked). Now i get at least a black screen (before, fallout whould send me straight...

@NovaRain: Oh maybe I should have provided that information. I'm running win 7 but I haven't installed Fallout2 to the default location. So there is no folder for falllout2 in the virtual store folder. Any other suggestions?
