You could also set your game difficulty to Easy to get a boost if you don't mind cheating a bit. I generally do this when I play on hard and don't feel like wasting several level's worth of skill points for one quest.

I'm trying extract the sound files from Fallout 2 with DAT Explorer. However, it doesn't which program I use to convert or play the file, the sound always come out playing at such a high speed as to render it useless. Any ideas?

Deep and humorous? You might want to try Planescape: Torment, another BIS game. It's not post-apocalyptic but has that same doom and gloom kind of atmostphere. Gameplay isn't really up to par with Fallout but the story and characters are simply top notch.
