for some heads you have to have it on, for others it has to be off. if you can't get it to work than you just aren't trying hard enough.

hell, it worked for me, it fixed the problem with sound effects too. just turn off the acceleration... oh and by the way, someone is one word :P

go read my other topic, it has the freakin' SOLUTION to the problem, or at least it worked for me.

go to run, type in dxdiag, when the screen comes up click on the display tab. under directx features, click on the DISABLE button next to directdraw acceleration. it worked for me, if you still need help just e-mail me or something.

wow i can't believe i missed that :shock: i remember being to that page at least twice... heh heh.

to a site (that works!) where i can download modrunner. i just could not find any (in english!) that had modrunner to download. yeah and i don't want fame because it doesn't work on xp. thanks in advance.

ok buddy, i think i might have figured it out, although i haven't fully tested it yet. go tu run, and type in dxdiag. then once a screen comes up click on sound 1 (or sound 2 or whatever depending on which sound card you are using). then click on the little slider named hardware sound...

i have the EXACT same problem, man. if you get it working, please PLEASE tell me how you did it.

i installed fallout 2 on my dell pc with 3 ghz processor with a creative soundblaster live! 5.1 sound card, but when i play it the sound effects cut out after a little while (less than a minute). i tried running it in the different compatibility modes but the same thing happens. music plays...
