    Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I'd have to be able to create and customise my own character and have the option to explore the world outside of the linear plot in order to fairly call it an RPG. The world of Assassin's Creed would lend itself well to an RPG, I think, if it had enough optional content to support the transition.

I didn't see a question in your post. What was it?

What are you talking about? I've already elaborated on that since I made that post. I'm not gonna repeat myself.

Having the option to employ your own reflexes and skills is compatible with the freedom to play as any character you like. They are not mutually exclusive. I don't see the contradiction.

Nor does stats or strategic use of skills. They are not exclusive features to RPGs. GTA:SA has stats. City building sims rely heavily on stats. Football management simulators are entirely about stats. Platform games have pretty much always involved strategic use of skills, and that is much more...

For you, perhaps. For me RPGs are about the setting, the lore, the story progression, character growth and consequence of actions, the journey through the game universe, and above all else, immersion.

I'd be happy playing either, but I was talking more specifically about RPGs. I've not played it yet, so I couldn't comment. I think they conflict in the examples I gave. YMMV

I prefer an organic, intuitive approach to playing these types of games. Instead of obsessing over numbers and statistics, I'd rather just play. I'd rather something like stealth be about shadows, noise, line of sight, instead of simply getting a skill number high enough so you can press crouch...

    Is NV too much NCR-Sided?

Nice. Stay indoors dutifully doing mundane chores and small tasks, looking after the kids, relaxing with some knitting and embroidery, submissive and loyal and permanently pregnant. That sounds like a fun adventure.

These pro-Legion arguments are completely irrelevant for a female courier.

A group of Legionaries run up to you...

Ruffle his hair, pinch his cheeks, tweak his nose, give him a wedgie and send the little scamp back to Caesar.
