lol. I'm half French - Alsatian if you want to get technical. Father was born in Metz. Rest of me is a hodgepodge of Anglo, Hessian German, and Scots-Irish
Old Roman Italian, Norman French, and Polish. Maybe that explains why I'm 5'9" with broad shoulders lol; that's the Pole in me. My grandparents came here from the old country back during the Korean war, during which time my dad's father dropped out've school to simultaneously fight in the war then work in a mill when he got home.
Father came over sometime post-WW2 with his mother. Family history on that side is a bit murky because she was believed to be a compulsive liar and at one point said my father was actually the son of a soldier of the Wehrmacht. We're pretty sure that wasn't the case as the timeframe was wrong for that, though
Old Roman third claims descent from Roman military, French from multiple French knights (one of which died during The Battle of the Golden Spurs; look it up it was a debilitating loss lmao), and Polish from a Polish Duke, I think my grandmother said Mieszko II Lambert but don't quote me on that. Oh and cancer runs in our family. And the famous "Sylvestre high blood pressure"
Cancer and blood pressure issues, ouch. I just got saddled with mental health issues going back on both sides. Otherwise surprisingly healthy, though my maternal grandfather had serious BP/heart issues for some reason
Huh. And yeah, all types of cancer. Most of those French knights I mentioned are thought to have died from that so you can thank my French grandmother Josephine for bringing that into the family lmao. The famous BP, we all have; my now deceased grandfather used to joke that it's our warrior genes. Come to think of it, I've never felt more alive than when fighting and my father used to be a boxer...
