Watched it at the movies, mostly just out of something-to-watch convenience, rather than a specific love for superhero comics or anything. But yeah, while the first movie was very backstory-y, this one was much more of just a fun ride

I must be an outlier. I thought it was good, but not as funny
You gotta admit, Brad Pitts cameo was a good gag! And I have to admit, while I found the movie more enjoyable than DP1, for some reason, I find it much less memorable. Probably cus the first movie is so in-your-face at the time.
I was on the floor during the whole X factor sequence, from the interview, to the briefing to their retarded deaths. All a great gag, the trailer hyped them up so much it was hilarious they did it like that.
Deadpool 2 bugs me because it has a recurring theme of family and cable just fucks off and leaves his family in a future that he deleted and decides that this ragtag band of people he spent the day with are now also family... lol what? pointless sequel is pointless and just ok.
Wait, did you seriously take Deadpool's statement about the movie having a theme seriously? Did you not caught on to the fact that the whole thing was a farce from beginning to end? Did the Scene where X-force die anticlimatically for a joke not tip you off that you were watching a comedy and not a drama with deep themes?
being a comedy is no excuse for the character that kickstarts the plot ignores his entire motivation for doing so last minute for no reason. its outright bad writing comedy or not.
Or maybe, just maybe, hear me out, hear me out, maybe the thing that the movie itself calls attention to and then it's used to set up a montague where Deadpool undoes the entire movie and kill baby Hitler.... Now hear me out, crazy idea but it might MIGHT MIIIIIIIIIIGHT have been a "Joak" a jest, a gag, a hoowinkery, a tomfoolery, a bit, a bufoonery.
Movie:
Deadpool:Is that a knife on my dick or are you happy to...
Cable:It's a Knife on your Dick.
Me an intelectual: That whole sequence runs against the theme of Family and unity that Deadpool stated at the begining of the movie.... as a flying dismembered head while flipping the bird to the screen and saying "Fuck Wolverinne".
lol you liked a thing with a flaw. accept it. the theme is there, comedy or not, and what's more the movie calls attention to it only for the plot to contradict not only the theme but basic character motivation established at the beginning. its a flaw. period.
