Dogs have been licking (on one occasion mauling) my face literally my entire life with no ill effects. I wear glasses not because of dog bacteria but because of eye strain caused by sitting basically on top of the TV for hours at a time as a child. If anything, that’s my parents’ fault... but I digress

I agree with Walp on this one. I don't allow my dog to lick my face. Not only is that gross, you can never be sure if the dog will decide to snap.

Also, to be fair, dog saliva, while gross, kills most bacteria in their mouths. Little known (or acknowledged) fact. And that lady who died of the dog lick, that was an allergic reaction. So don’t even give me that shit lmao

Correction, Dog Saliva has a shit load of Bacteria that protects the DOG from disease, but not humans.

It’s interesting, I’ll give ya that; but the article said that while the bacteria is in most dogs saliva the infection it caused was rare.

Basically what I’m saying is that I’ll concede you and Rose have a point, but in my experience I’ve been licked, mauled, (and on one occasion had my stomach ripped open) by dogs my entire life and I’ve luckily been fine. Fingers crossed it stays that way, I guess.
