Still won't fix the bad final act and ending. Seriously, that was almost as bad as GoT ending.

The entire second half of game of thrones was bad. I've been saying it's been shit for years. The fact that everyone only acknowledged the drop in quality when it got to star wars prequels tier is infuriating. Like y'all couldn't see that shit coming? Was y'all not paying attention? Bah.

Is that the one where the player character is the Courier but also a clone of the Vault Dweller? Skipped it because of that utter nonsense.

Haven't play New California yet but read the design document of Project Brazil few years ago, so they still use the "VD clone" concept in the release?
RangerBoo
RangerBoo
@NovaRain Yep and it's just as bad as the NMAers say that it is.

I'm gonna say it and this is no joke: that whole thing is Bethesda's levels of bad writing. No, i'm gonna stick up for Bethesda. As bad as the Lone Wanderer and Sole Survivor are, they have absolutely nothing to do with previous characters. They are their own characters. They are not another character from another game and not a clone of yet another character.

@Norzan That was just terrible writing. They took away the player's ability to customize both of their characters in New California and New Vegas in the name of "subverting exceptions". God, do I hate post modernism in writing.

You never, ever, make the character from one game that you can fully customize and come up with your own backstory for that character as the protagonist of a prequel. There are a ton of Couriers with wildly different backstories and making a prequel where he/she is the protagonist doesn't work from a roleplaying standpoint.

Nor is making them a clone of a previous protagonist from another game which takes away from the uniqueness of your Courier.
