Just turn your brain off. It's not worth paying attention to unless you live there. It's just really bad politics. The worst kind.

Not that easy, I got a friend who is Kurdish (he is fine, btw - safe and sound over here) - but it made me aware of their struggle even as a kid, and I've admired them ever since. In a kind of gay way, they grew to become a symbol for me, a kind of "last bastion of enduring minority uprising" - one of the few that seemed to have a hope in sight. This is so depressing.

90% of my neighbors are Turkish and the Grey Wolves are very popular here. Some of them are basically celebrating this, so it's hard not paying attention to this. This is also the first time that I wish Trump would just get a stroke and end up in a wheelchair, unable to say much more than "Have I eaten already?" and "I need to go poopoo!"
