Yeah why not. I've read the comic book and it is a super hero comic written by a guy who hates super hero comics. The show takes some big divergences from the books, which is fine. most of the super heroes were 1 dimensional hedonists, in the show a lot of them are multidimensional hedonists. That said the show is fucking brutal like the comic and brutal shit happens to people. like some really fucked up shit.

There is brutal shit like what happens when a super speed hero accidentally hits a pedestrian and then some real soul crushing shit. Another thing about the show is the setting, Imagine if a company like disney asked the guy who played Thor who just happens to have powers to go stop real crime and how fucking retarded that would be.

If super humans existed most people would fawn over them and form consumer cults around them while the rest of us would develop British style, self deprecating humor to make sense of things and to cope. lol
It could always be worse it seems.
