No Mutants Allowed

With the others that are big open maps the stories are usually bad fanfic level, so I usually just play those for the maps and the impressive coding work some of these guys pull through. I avoided the big New California one because I found out they attempt to make it a prequel to the game, which is unnecesary and dumb.

The twist with the main character in New California is one of the worst pieces of writing i have ever had the displeasure of witnessing. How no one read it back to themselves after writing it down to realize how dumb the whole thing was is beyond me.

Bounties also have problems- for example how it tries to shame you in III for killing dangerous bandits. And Glanton's entire character would fit more a Batman villain, than a post-apo outlaw.

Other good ones are Saxxon's Collection, Salt Lake Stories, Th3Overseer's series and maybe Tales of New Reno (though it's heavy on references).

I like Radioactivelad/Olleyoxen's 1-2 quest mods a lot

Autumn Leaves is a really well done mod. Feels like something that would fit in the vanilla game. Very lore friendly too.

Lots of people on NMA seemed to really enjoy Frontier! Lots of members here kept talking about it so it must be one of the best mods ever!

Right?

Haven't plaayed it myself. Another thing that keeps me away from new California and the Frontier is that those mods occupy as much space as New Vegas itself and would probably require me to uninstall my carefully crafted load order to work.
