I can't watch trailers for games or movies without youtube reccomending me one those cringy ranty videos about how everything in it will suck or one of those "red circle" trailer explained videos.
It is exasperating that the outrage-clickbait-redcircle-formula still works so well. Then you get TV-shows trying to emulate this formula. They physically make me gag.
"Why anime looks plastic now"
Alright, interesting topic let's watch
"Uses as an example one of the anime that doesn't look plastic and is in fact praised for it's art direction"
This mothefucker doesn't even know what he is talking about, doesn't he?
Youtube in a nutshell, really. Some topics I avoid entirely, such as history and paleontology, because there is nothing - ever - that some video face can tell me, that I cannot read about in a detailed paper, or shifting through multiple textual sources. Some topics shouldn't even be allowed to be attempted condensed through 10 minutes of agitated screaming
What's worse, 10 minutes of agitated screaming or 5 hours of directionless ranting? There is some good content out there but most of it is just miasma.
Oh, there's fabulous content out there - every one in a thousand are testaments of people's creativity, ingenuity, hard work! Some videos are truly impressive. But yes, the rest can be summed up as a race towards the ad-revenue bubble to finally implode.
