No, it's my girlfriend. She had an issue with the law 5 years ago and she got a really shitty lawyer so I had to get her a new one so she doesn't get jail time. THe new Lawyer straight up said the previous lawyer fucked up royally and that might be the point of apelation but we need to formualte it for next thursday.

Lawyer fucked up so bad that he could've argued that the statue of limitations had ran out and there wouldn't even be need for a hearing that he then fucked up by not preparing well or doing the due dilligence.

That doesn't sound like a worst case scenario situation so maybe count your blessing your/her current lawyer is not a dumbass.

If the apelation fails we will move on to a third process that would give us like 3 extra years, maybe a few more because there will be an election this year so that usually delays things. And then if that also fails we will ask for conditional freedome or house arrest, she has a chronic illness she can't go to jail.

So it sounds like you are not going to Japan and Fate decided for you fellow Persona player. Sometimes having less options can be nice. Plus you did get that new job right or you would be able to afford the lawyer.
