This is from the bad ending for the intelligent deathclaws in Fallout 2, it's kind of bullshit because no matter how much work you put into saving them they die, and you're blamed for their death.

Really? Shit. I'd heard the good ending for them was cut. Is there no way to restore it?

It's supposed to be in the Restoration Patch, I still didn't get the good ending with it installed though and I'm pretty sure I filled in the prerequisites.

To get the good ending for Vault 13, you either have to kill Dr. Schreber and free Xarn BEFORE entering Vault 13, 2 weeks mustn't pass AFTER you installed the Voice Module to Vault 13 Computer Mainframe, or both. I'm not sure.

@Black Angel has it right. I got the good ending for the Intelligent Deathclaws before (with the Restoration Patch installed) doing what he said (plus I made sure to rush to the Oil Rig once I retrieved the GECK). Though I do recall refraining from visiting Vault 13 after installing the Voice Module as well.

Yeah, I did free Xarn before going to Vault 13, that was what pissed me off.
