Kinda wish they went all the way with making Dante not Dante. What we got in DmC seems to be focused on pandering to the old fans while meekly moving on while the old fans continue raging. Game's still pretty fun (the Definitive Edition even has proper lock-on) and the visual direction's decent.

I gotta say Dante is like the least interesting or complex character on anything and it was on porpouse. Both are cheesy badass with cheesier one liners who say emo things every now and then.

DMC has never had stellar writting, it never has, awful cheesy dialogue is par of the course with the series.

Yea but theres a difference between cheeky one liners and a charismatic protagonist and a generic dude bro "fuck you" edgy protagonist. Also come on those quotes are from DMC1 which didn't take itself too seriously all the time like DmC: DMC did.

DmC took itself seriously? I never got that feeling, the overcursing is pretty over the top and Dante is always smirking like an edgelord. I think is a different kind of cheesy and it made lots of dumb goofy Jokes like the one with the Hair.

DmC felt like one of those Action Comedy anime with stylized visuals, like Samurai Champloo, I felt like I was playing as Mugen the whole time.
