well the form archery that i practice is emerge during seljuk and early ottoman era. So, idk if turkmen could be considered barbarian (since they left scripture and trade to other civilization). Like the vandals; once they settled in carthage, they are 'civilized' probably even more than some nobility that dwell in roman ruin.
