Well I can't be sure because I didn't like Doom 4 very much. I quit before beating it at the end even.

How come, Toront? I personally loved Doom 4, it feels a lot different than the originals but I feel like it was faithful enough. I agree that the monster designs were lacking though, the Cyberdemon and Imps looked like complete shit.

Doom 4 had shit level design, but it was better than Doom 3 in that respect. The monsters all looked fairly shitty. At least they had horns this time. Doom 3 BFG is a must play. Coop would be preferable.

The level design after the first level become more and more linear, just an arena to another arena and many of point of no return. And you won't see more than around 12 monsters per arena, while old Doom will throw you more and more at once in later level.

At least John Carmack released the source code for Doom 3 before he leave id, while all we got for Doom 4 modding will only be the snap map.

Gotcha, I did forget about that. I do agree honestly, I really didn't like a lot of the hell levels, I felt like they were way too similar. Yeah, I didn't like the monster cap at all. The gore nests made the game feel like a shitty Serious Sam at times. I still enjoyed it a lot though, I'll give Doom 3 BFG a try though. Maybe i'll force my brother to play it with me lol

Do get BFG though. It has the expansion and stuff. Otherwise don't bother.

Didn't BFG make the game less dark? Remeber me trying to decide if i should get BFG or the normal + expansion and went with the normal one.

Doom 3 is probably my favorite Doom even if i played a lot of Doom 1-2 back in the days. Haven't tried the newest one yet.
