Antifa has a bad rep today, but the movement originate from the 80s and 90s, when skinhead violence was a real thing. The idea was to "bring back" "leftie warrior" types, to contrast the guitar-plunking helpless hippies. I have always condoned self-defense attitudes on the left, since the ring wing has always had their militant factions ready for battle.

I can't say much for the rest of the world but anfita in Sweden has allways been semi terrorists. They love to break stuff or put it on fire.
