All Spiderman movies suck.
This Homecoming trailer already shows that Spiderman acts nothing like the comics one. Tony Stark somehow became Peter's mentor and gave him cool gadgets, Peter's always made his gadgets.
Turned the geek genius teenager with a big sense of honor into a Tony Stark fanboy. Turning a quite complex character into a jumpy teen drooling at the tech guy.
I was just teasing. I never watched this new movie so I can't comment if it is good or not. But the trailer makes me cringe in my seat.
I grew up reading Spiderman comics since the 80's, so I enjoy Spiderman the same way I enjoy Fallout. If you change things and change the character's attitude, mentality, actions and skills/achievements, then it spoils the character for me.
The big thing about Spiderman was the now legendary uncle Ben's words to Peter "with great power comes great responsibility" and after Ben died because of Peter's inaction, he was forced to grow up and became a really responsible person. In the trailer all he does is behave exactly the opposite of that.
Also the trailer makes him sound really dumb when he is a genius and have helped (with research, lab work and working out problems in the research department) some of the most intelligent characters in the marvel universe before (Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Reed Richards, Dr Curt Connors even Otto Octavius).
Screw 420 limit characters!
