Problem with it is the games really. It set the game indsuty back about 50 years in terms of game developement because the games where so simplistic if that makes sense. But yeah it makes sense now to have games like resident evil 7 in VR that seems more natural than making 1st party game for it because so far they been awful

I'm questioning why 4k is a fad, not VR.

4k is pointless. It's like $50 per movie and doesn't look any better unless you have like $1000 set up.

A while back people were making quad SLI Titan rigs to achieve 4K 60 fps, it probably looked more like a rich persons toy than an achievable goal to some people because of this.

Only high frame rate is the real deal.

4K is not supported by most systems, you have to buy very expensive tvs, powerfull pcs or specialized equipment just to get a barely noticeable increase in video quality. Quite the definition of a pointless luxury just like Home theatre systems. Rich people toys.

Home theatre is actually nice. 4k is pointless.

You do realize there were people saying the exact same thing about 1080p displays? Y'know, the current preferred standard for HD displays?

As 4k displays get cheaper and technology improves, we'll start seeing 4k become a lot more commonplace. Heck, even consoles are starting to try and hit a native 4k resolution.
