No Mutants Allowed

Hmm... Depends on the game. I'd argue there's a difference between skill and strategy. I usually think of skill as the physical movements of a game, while strategy is the... well... strategy of it. In that case, a game like CK2 shouldn't have a skill wall. A game like Doom shouldn't have a strategy wall. Cuphead should probably have both.

They are acceptable and encouraged if they are acceptable and encouraging, if you know what I mean.

Not bullshit and trying to be fair?

A brains or luck option is welcome too

If you don't play the game well why should you be rewarded or allowed to continue? Why are you spending 40 to 60 dollars on a game if you don't intend to at least be competent at it.

There is such a thing as too hard. Just look at, like, half of all NES games, or a lot of the non-Nethack roguelikes.

As Roguelikes go it's kind of the point, though. But yes, games don't come with a disclaimer that it has that one and they other one seriously bullshit section. Either you lead and teach the players well that it's their fault and their fault only for not going on or you simply don't or do it other way.

I don't know, read reviews? Watch videos? Check communities' reactions before buying games?

The New World (next project of Iron Tower Studio, who made Age of Decadence) planned to gate content that's exclusive for specialized build. I can't wait to play it.

"read reviews?"

What the hell happened to "all game journos are hacks" that I keep seeing around these parts. Either reviews are a good source or they're not.
