Putting an NMA bar in Wasteland 2 (goal reached!)

I will, in fact, reveal it is (afaik) in the current beta build. Will wait and see for one of you to find it :)

Interview with Brian Fargo and our very own Brother None on Wasteland 2

Oh right. Nah, that's probably not going to happen. I think I've newsposted some WL2 and other stuff but articles etc I can't really do, it'd clash with my own job/interests and avoiding bias from my job is impossible.

Interview with Brian Fargo and our very own Brother None on Wasteland 2

I lurk and try to post at least on occasion. More in the The Order than elsewhere yeah. Nothing purposeful about it, just a matter of time free and how many sites I already visit etc. I'm trying to be around!

Putting an NMA bar in Wasteland 2 (goal reached!)

Me again! First off: the tab will be implemented on a "rotation" based, coz otherwise it's unreadable on the WL2 UI. Each time you click you see 5 random names from the list. Click enough times and you'll inevitably find yourself. I worked with the scripter to get it in and details right and am...

Putting an NMA bar in Wasteland 2 (goal reached!)

I've heard back from a majority now. I think most use real name occassionally with nickname in quotes. I sent out another email as I got a note from the implementer to get this done ASAP, so people I haven't heard of by Monday I'll get creative with their names. Default if you don't specify...

    Fallout trilogy re-released on Steam

I honestly think it'd actually sell based purely on Fallout name confusion, completionism and just curiosity a la "I gotta play this to see how bad it is" I actually own second-hand copies of it for both platforms. Never actually played though.

Putting an NMA bar in Wasteland 2 (goal reached!)

Ok so, Silencer is an hero and got me the full email export from PayPal. I manually rebuilt the list of names, emails and money amounts. I just sent everyone on the list another email asking you to specify your name and if you want your amount listed. It's from my inxile.net email, be sure to...

Putting an NMA bar in Wasteland 2 (goal reached!)

ChipIn's just gone yeah, and there's no real "proof" that works here Lemme try to maybe get a datagrab from PayPal from that period that would contain all this info, and I'll simply be mailing everyone again to check again on names. Bit annoying but that would not be a bad solution.

Putting an NMA bar in Wasteland 2 (goal reached!)

Bump with even worse news. So ok, I had everyone's emails set aside ready to sort in a Thunderbird subfolder. But between a PC switch and at least on HD formatting it looks like I lost the Thunderbird inbox, having only a backup from May 2012 In other words, I lost everyone's names for the NMA...

    Russian-Ukrainian war

I see a lot of Western media of late crowing the viewpoint of "we won!" That seems pretty naive to me, or just old-fashioned confirmation bias. The more likely geopolitical reality was Putin never had any interest in Eastern Ukraine, and it was to his disadvantage to actually landgrab it. It is...

Wasteland 2 Update #49: Release Date Announcement

Torment and PoE are both Unity games yes. I have no idea what the specs of either will be but I wouldn't expect them to be dramatically lower than WL2's final (which should be lower than WL2's current). There's only so much you can do to optimize these really large levels in Unity.

Wasteland 2 Update #49: Release Date Announcement

I don't think it'll go that low. A Unity game that has to load and run levels this large simply does require a good chunk of hardware, like I don't see the RAM requirement ever going beneath 4GB, and 32-bit systems will have trouble on it when skirting that minimum. We'll optimize it as much as...

Wasteland 2 Update #49: Release Date Announcement

Those are the recommended specs, not the minimum. Minimum: OS: Windows 7/8/8.1/XP/Vista (32 or 64 bit) Processor: 2.4ghz Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent Memory: 4 GB RAM Graphics: Nvidia 260 GTS or Radeon HD 4850 - 512 MB of VRAM DirectX: Version 9.0c Hard Drive: 30 GB available space...

Underrail making progress: Core City sneak peek

All the more important for niche sites like us to give it coverage! Underrail is a growing gem that shouldn't be ignored, especially by NMA's audience.

Wasteland 2 Update #45: And. Here. We. Go!

Hexes look better. Since the movement system is flexibly tied to squares there's no practical difference, other than squares are easier to use with our existing level geometry.

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

It's schlocky, campy fun. It's not exactly a great movie but it entertains. That scene was actually partially improvised/rewritten by the actor from the original script. I'm not sure if Harrison Ford is acting or just going "omg this is fucking awesome".

Wasteland 2 Kickstarter Update #44: FTW For the When

The 44th update for Wasteland 2 on Kickstarter has some 4K resolution screenshots to tease the next beta update, coming this next Monday, but also speaks to inXile's plans for the coming months.<blockquote>I must confess that we dared to make an ambitious game. Wasteland 2 is big in every...
