Need Help With Crazy Accuracy Values From Edited Bozar

Reinstalling has (unfortunately) become the default way of trying to fix bugs. Also take a look at this: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=512173#512173 Google's site: search function can be more useful than the one in the board.

    'Too many items' bug

http://falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/MAP_File_Format#MAP_Scripts indicates where the script ID is, though not much else. I haven't had the time to work on this myself recently.

Weird glitchy display issue on Fallout 2.

The game is ten years old, so it doesn't need fancy hardware (by today's standards). To figure out what's going wrong on the desktop, it would help to have its specs and what OS you're running on it.

    Sawn-off and pistol burst

Not sure how realistic this is, but you could make a modified grenade launcher that fires three shells at once (i.e. clustered in a triangle to fill the barrel). I figure that would have a great spread, especially if the barrel is short, and a correspondingly horrible effective range. A...

Bishop has to be dead before that dialogue option becomes available.

Need modders? or a Project? Need / have modding ideas?

The problem with modding Fallout 1 is that a lot of data seems to be coded into the executable itself, not stored in files in master.dat . Files not present include: city.txt, maps.txt, party.txt, quests.txt, worldmap.txt, and quests.msg. The way the game is designed is very similar, and many of...

Renesco has some great lines for stupid characters: Renesco: "Come on, [man|woman], out with it!" (male porn star): "Okee dokee it coming out…you better stand back (Zip.)" (female porn star): "Okee dokee. Need open bra first. Hold on (Zip.)" also "no shout WHY YOU KEEP SHOUTING BE...

    Brahmin humping!?

It resembles the end of the 'using object' (AL) animation, but the hands are much farther apart. The male metal armor character also has this (hmmetlau), I didn't see any others. Maybe that's a good thing; I don't really want to see a 'brahmin humping' animation for Horrigan... or Myron.

    Slow map travel in FO2

The recommended system requirements (from the readme) are: Windows 95/98 120MHz Pentium 32 MB RAM Find a computer with those specs (made around 1999), do a full install, and that will be roughly what the developers intended. Personally, I feel that an average of an encounter every 3-4...

    About fallout endings:thank you killaps!

Ah. I always figured that after spending four years of your life on F2, you'd want to move on to some non-Fallout related projects.

Modding Fallout 2 on a Mac

If it's written for Windows, it's only going to run on Windows. A savegame editor is the easiest way to get items you're not normally supposed to have. You could try renaming the proto to replace another item, e.g. the 9mm mauser.

    About fallout endings:thank you killaps!

More endings were planed for Fallout 1, but they didn't all get implemented. Looking at the files in master.dat/text/english/cuts/ , there are good endings for the Followers and Hub. Also planned were invasions of Junktown, Shady Sands, and the Brotherhood if you took too long. Actually...

    'Too many items' bug

http://falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/MAP_File_Format is somewhat helpful. Sorry if my notation is confusing. As an example, the number of local variables is stored as a 32-bit integer, occupying bytes 0x20, 21, 22, and 23. Only the last byte is non-zero, but the actual value starts at 0x20, not...

    'Too many items' bug

Almost everything in a 4-byte value, so I'm referring to them by the base address. 0x38 is the current time. I don't see why that should be part of the map file, but that's what it is. 0x20 is the number of local variables. There aren't any in the original artemple.map in master.dat, (no...
