The Age of Decadence: Great RPG, or Greatest RPG ever made?

This would be the perfect game if not for the horrid performance and the extremely long loading times, which coupled with the easy deaths make this unplayable for me.

    The Gothic Series

I think the problem with Gothic is that it's from a german developer, from a time when it was either "USA or Japan" when it came to RPGs. Gothic I is a game that took me a long, long while to get into, thanks to its bizarre control scheme, and here I see another reason why it isn't more popular...

I don't think Legendary weapons should be in the game.

Spot on. Exploring in Bethesda's games is pointless since loot is leveled. I can't stop comparing the Gothic series to The Elder Scrolls, because Gothic I and II wipe the floor with all of TES, even Morrowind.

So what lore has Bethesda done gone fucked up?

This is something that didn't came to my mind until I started using Mass Recalibration in New Vegas. Caps gained weight, and soon I realized that carrying 20.000 caps in real life would be impossible. You would be literally dragging a bag of caps on the floor, getting shot at. And buying a...

I don't think Legendary weapons should be in the game.

I read this title. And thought "is that really a thing?". Then went here. And holy shit, they aren't even trying to separate TES from Fallout anymore. And of course I googled this crap to see if anybody felt the same way as I did (unsurprisingly, this was one of the few results that sprung up...

So what lore has Bethesda done gone fucked up?

I could bet money on this being a retcon after the fact. Fact: Bethesda's leveled lists are crap. And they cause Jet to appear in places they shouldn't. Additionally, level designers manually placed Jet in places it shouldn't be in. Retcon: Bethesda officializes Jet as being Pre-War just to...

So what lore has Bethesda done gone fucked up?

It could be due to the fact that it doesn't look like Shiva at all. I mean, nobody would guess *that* is Shiva just from looking at it. The thing with Final Fantasy is that everything is instantly recognizable. It didn't need to reuse the same exact design for every game. The principle is mostly...

So what lore has Bethesda done gone fucked up?

Not really. Plenty of games redesign weapons, armor, clothing, items, it happens all the time. Even when it's the same company doing it to its own franchise, like Final Fantasy. The Espers/Summonings appear in every game (or almost every game), yet Shiva appears in FFIX like this: And in FFX...

So what lore has Bethesda done gone fucked up?

You are looking too much into a simple redesign. Some times you make a design you like, but that doesn't mean you need to stick for it forever.

So what lore has Bethesda done gone fucked up?

It's a matter of opinion, really. I'm not okay with Bethesda changing the blue color of it. That's what made it distinct from classic Coca-Cola. Now, changing the design, I don't really see a problem. It IMO looks much nicer. In FO3 and FNV, Nuka-Cola was literally a Coke with a different name...

So what lore has Bethesda done gone fucked up?

Lol. Until recently, I literally pronunced it "Falout", then switched to the correct "Folaut" pronunciation. Anyhow, regarding Nuka-Cola: the switch from blue to black is a retcon, no doubt. The switch from one bottle design to another is just typical redesigns we see everywhere in gaming.

So what lore has Bethesda done gone fucked up?

Personally any retcon is significant for me, mostly because it is retconned for the silliest of reasons. Expanding on the lore as long as it doesn't contradict established canon: more than fine. Retcon to fix inconsistencies in the lore: fine. Retcon to change things in the lore just because...

So what lore has Bethesda done gone fucked up?

^ This. All trace of the Pip-Boy mascot has disappeared in the 3D titles. Vault Boy has effectively replaced it, and the loading screen makes no sense at all, since it implies it was always like that (that the Vault Boy was the mascot for the Pip-Boy).

So what lore has Bethesda done gone fucked up?

This just in: Bethesda ret-conned "Pip-Boy" to "Vault-Boy". From a loading screen in the new Vault-Tec DLC: "In the years before the war, RobCo and Vault-Tec forged a powerful corporate alliance. Residents of Vault-Tec's Vaults would each be provided with a RobCo Pip-Boy personal computer, a...

Fallout: New Vegas - 2 page screenplay

Well, what it says on the tin. I was bored and decided to write a screenplay for New Vegas. At first I wanted to do an original thing, will have to see about that, then I realized the golden rule of storytelling: don't start what you don't know how it's going to progress and end. One way or...

    Favorite robot in fallout series?

Favorite designs: - Protectron (FO4's redesign is even better) - Eyebot Favorite robots: - Primm Slim (early game favorite, maybe because of his Vikki and Vance lines) - ED-E - Fisto - Victor (he's generally upbeat but has some excellent lines thanks to his voice acting,"I'll let that slide...

What was the Funniest Argument You've had with a Bethesda Apologist?

This is the kind of image that proves that to these people, Fallout is about exploring and shooting crap. Oh, and let's compare the technical prowess of this 2015 game to a game that was using the same engine as another in 2008. Because that's fair.

Fallout 4 quest appears to be "heavily inspired" by New Vegas mod

That's similar to something I said in one of the threads. "Not plagiarism when Bethesda does it, plagiarism and ban to the user who copies it on Nexus".

Fallout 4 quest appears to be "heavily inspired" by New Vegas mod

I have never felt so much hatred for Reddit's Fallout section until now. People downvoting EVERYONE who believes Bethesda stole the mod, some even thinking it's perfectly fine for Bethesda to steal people's ideas just because they own the content of the mod. It's official. The Fallout fanbase...
