Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

I apologise for calling you a liar, but your way is still more expensive and more of a hassle than the average consumer is willing put up with. Not to further derail this thread. But the comments about how quickly bloodlines 2 came together are a bit alarming even to me. I feel this way...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Even if I did believe you actually did this, this directly contradicts why the micro consoles are allegedly overpriced. You already had the games. For those who don't and want to avoid the murky grey area of emulation, the micro consoles are still a deal. Nobody who is looking to to emulate...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Everything is overpriced if your primary mode consumption is theft and yes, emulation and piracy are theft.

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

I understand what you are saying, but I still think it's cynical hyperbole at best. Are some these releases guilty of nostalgia baiting, sure , but there's a huge difference between something like Halo: The Master Chief Collection which literally didn't work at launch and the crash and Spyro...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Again, outside of Nintendo. How much of this stuff is actually turning a profit? Obsidian and inXile limped their way to a Microsoft acquisition, Underworld Ascendant failed miserably to the point where I'm surprised that anyone is actually excited for another game from that studio, yooka...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Outside of Nintendo and Bethesda, who's actually raking in the cash with this stuff? Projects like Torment, Underworld Ascendant, and Mighty Number 9 all died miserable deaths shortly after release. They cared enough to get the original writer back which they didn't have to do. If the story...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

That's all well and good except the first Bloodlines isn't a "pure rpg", it's an immersive sim that features more role playing opportunities than almost any other game in the genre, but it was still very much an action game with incredibly dodgy melee combat. How guns are allegedly handled...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Dishonored has a proper melee combat system outside of the blink mechanic. There's just no real reason to use it considering how overpowered the other abilities are and the game being designed around stealth despite being marketed otherwise. I do understand your point, but the melee combat in...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Thus far I've seen a bunch whining about pronouns, camera placement, how guns are implemented, and it just being a CG teaser. The latter two issues I understand. Actual gameplay footage would have been nice considering there's a press demo out and the limitations on firearms are terrible if...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

I try to dial back my cynicism to a nice "cautiously optimistic" level until I've seen actual gameplay footage. The "everything is garbage until proven otherwise" mentality isn't particularly constructive or healthy. If you're that jaded and cynical towards the medium, you need to find a new...

    Unpopular Fallout Opinions

I understand it's an unpopular opinion hence why I posted it here, but shitty dark alliance clone that's functional is far more appealing to me than an open world fps with the worst shooting mechanics of any triple A release of the last 20 years that's gonna crash my system periodically. I'm...

    Unpopular Fallout Opinions

I don't recommend spending that much on it. I snagged it a few years back for like 10 bucks when I was in my Fallout collecting phase. I'm surprised to see it's that high.

    Unpopular Fallout Opinions

Both games completely misunderstand what Fallout is about. Both games feature drastically different gameplay than the original. Both games feature laughably dumbed down rpg mechanics. Both games feature brain dead writing. What gives Brotherhood the advantage is it functionally works. I...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Fuck it, I'm actually excited. If the writing is decent and it'll run correctly without 10+ years of unofficial patches, it'll at least start in a better position than the original. As long as it's still Deus Ex with Vampires, I'm on fucking board.

    Unpopular Fallout Opinions

Having played both games again recently for a video project, I still maintain the opinion that Fallout 3 is just as bad (if not worse) as Brotherhood of Steel.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

That's fair. I commend insomniac for actually expanding on that style of game in ways the proper Arkham sequels never did, but they wore their influences on their sleeves. The ending was perfect too. Another reminder of why it sucks to be Spider-Man.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

It's more the combat which also utilizes two button take downs ala Arkham. The story is even structured similarly complete with Scarecrow esque hallucination sequences.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Just finished up Spider-Man on PS4. It's a shameless Arkham clone, but it's a damn good shameless Arkham clone.
