Which is your favorite gang of Raiders?

"Raiders", in the litteral sense, are absent of New Vegas, and almost absent of Fallout 2. Despite being agressive NPCs, they don't raid for survival, they are simply organized societies/microsocieties clashing into each other. Which makes them more interesting, in my mind. Hell, even the Fiends...

    Suing Saudi Arabia

A bit out of the subject from me, but the infamous "too hot coffee" is actually a legit one. It gave the girl (Stella Liebeck, apparently) third degree burns over 6% of her body, which required skin grafts. And she actually only asked for 20K, which MacDonalds refused, and only then things got...

Wasteland 3 announced, crowdfunding campaign to start on 5th of October

Icy rocked when it came to resource management, and the journey system is basically the same as the one in Wasteland 2, so I'm sure something can be done here. Also, managing the base could be something in the likes of Xcom, which worked really well, or something more in the spirit of the castle...

    Suing Saudi Arabia

Oh, I did read that President Obama issued a veto just yesterday, I didn't know it could be overturned by the Senate (I'm not American). When it comes to sue a country, I don't know exactly how it happens, but I know it's possible. In 1995, a guy named Stephen Flatow successfully sued Iran...

Elements you'd have liked explored more

In the end, mixing sci fi and post-apocalyptic can work pretty well. Look at judge dredd, for example (the comics or the recent movie, not the forgettable mess with Sylvester Stallone). There's an atomic wasteland filled with mutants, true, but there are also holographic screens, cloning bays...

Elements you'd have liked explored more

And it would have made way more sense than the Californian BoS backing him. Personally, I loved the Third Rail, but I regret that there's litteraly nothing to do there, except flirting with Magnolia and talk to the british Mr.Handy. The place had a "dark city" atmosphere into it, and the...

    What Fallout 4 should've included

That. Clearly. Problem with the opening sequence, it defines Sanctuary as the hero's comfort zone, and vault 111 as the "out of the comfort zone" moment. Problem is, you get back to Sanctuary in 10 minutes, and you are welcomed by a friendly face and a beautiful sun. You're back right into your...

    What Fallout 4 should've included

Because the law system provided them immunity for their action, at least at some points of Japan's history. Same goes for medieval knights, many turned raiders, but they had a legitimate reason : either it was because they weren't allowed to get paid (which forced many to pillage farms and...

    What Fallout 4 should've included

Even then, one could say that the fiends are simply defending their land and their drug fueled, tribal culture against a foreign invador, coming to take their turf, their resources, and force them to change their way of life. There's a reason why they are so eager to help Caesar : they believe...

    What Fallout 4 should've included

Late on the subject, sorry. Little things that would have been interesting, other than a script doctor to proof read the story. I may have already submitted them elsewhere on the forum, not really sure. If so, sorry for the repetition. But anyway : 1 - Play as a reporter. Interview important...

    Bethesda Lies Repository

I'd say that judging the product, and the product only, seems like the reasonable thing to do. But then again, it's a bit hard, and I'm the first to be guilty of not doing it. As much as I think I'm neutral towards Bethesda/Obsidian (I pre ordered Fallout 4, and even after the desillusion, I...

Post your insane Fallout 4 theories and headcanon

The evil corporation trope is getting really rusty, I agree. Play Alien Isolation. Game is very interesting in this aspect in particular, especially if you have seen the Alien trilogy and know a bit about Weyland Yutani. Let's just say that for once, things are a bit more realistic and...

The thing is, they actually ARE graded for that. They distributed Dishonored, which has simple, yet excellent and subtle writing. Say what you want about the consistency/maturity of the Elder Scrolls series, it has quite a solid world building. The Pitt DLC has a decent writing, even by the old...

What Kind of Music is FALLOUT missing.

Given the context of Fallout 4 (Boston, Irish undertones in the Diamond City OST, actual Irish NPCs etc.), it would have been interesting to have 50-60's Irish folk music instead of blues and jazz. Would have been a nice change in the atmosphere, logical, and still in pace with the retro thingy...

Well, I'm replaying Fallout 1 now thanks to you

Fallout 1 and 2 are pessimistic about the human nature, but optimistic about the human actions. It makes a clear distinction between what we are and what we do. Joshua Graham is the perfect example of the man who tries to find what's gonna be judged about him, what he is, or what he does. War...

CT Phipps' review of Fallout 4

What's the problem in that ? The game was advertised as "you get to be whoever you want". What if I want to endorse child slavery, instead of just hating newspapers ? I didn't play Nuka World, so I'll trust you on that. Jesse James' example though, the guy was mad because of the secession war...

CT Phipps' review of Fallout 4

And it's good to meet you too! I want to see the dev meeting, when someone had the brillant idea : "hey, we've had Caesar's Legion, Vipers, the Master's Unity, Ulysses and the Enclave, now. I propose that we introduce a new kind of antagonist. One that is defined by its laziness, haughtiness...

Well, I'm replaying Fallout 1 now thanks to you

I envy your discoveries. Wish I could forget Fallout just to rediscover it, anew. Have fun. About the romances, the one between Annah and the nameless one is probably the best one I've had the chance to witness in a video game. I also liked the way Dishonored treated the romance between Corvo...

CT Phipps' review of Fallout 4

Sorry, couldn't resist. Been away for quite a while, just came back to see the news. You have opinions which may not be very popular here, but hey, you seem to express/defend them in a mature way. That's refreshing. And actually, I agree with several of your points. Yes, raiders have humanizing...

I think Nuka World and Far Harbor were quite good.

In a way, Fallout Tactics puts you in the shoes of raiders. Shiny raiders pretending to do good, but still hoarding tech from the peasants, and forcing them to give up their youngsters, give supplies... for their "protection". Still have the mission with the hummer full of food supplies in mind...
