Problems with FO3 summed up with old quote

Good stuff chaos. I'm with you 100%. The museum of tech is a great example. And a few of the vaults. I loved the "tasteful" softcore stuff in Oblivion ,remember that? With the lizard guys doing the dirty... lol.

Problems with FO3 summed up with old quote

Its clear you're pretty against the Bethsoft guys. Your statement about people leaving TES developement has no backing, I am under the impression a lot of them stayed on... where do you get your info? I found Fallout 3 to be a lot tighter than TES:O...which would mean they are getting better...

Problems with FO3 summed up with old quote

I'm agreeing that Planescape is a great story, one of the best (I actually picked it up because of you guys at NMA, so kudos to you!) However... its out of reach because of what gamers today play. Things are fast, they progress a lot faster and they are not so wordy! C'mon live in 2008 Pope...

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

So, in your view since you find the graphical quality to be lackluster or at least not what reviewers say it is...what does that tell you? In all seriousness... I'm curious... Maybe console players like myself (used to be a PC player but it got too hard to keep up with the tech, but I've...

Problems with FO3 summed up with old quote

Exactly. Planescape is so out of reach I dont see why people keep brining it up in regards to Fallout 3. And TES isnt out there to make money. Oblivion was a great game, The Shivering Isles is proof of that. That suggests Bethesda pulled a 180 on you. which they didn't. If you went in...

Dark Humor and Bethesdas Take on It

Lol its not that bad guys. There will always be a subculture. I'm just glad games get press nowadays. There is always a negative side to that but it at least keeps things alive.

The Earths...not square?! Wrong or not, I just thought it was a bit much. Whatever though. Do what you want. You will anyway...

    A genuine, worthy sequel

Guys easy on the negativity. The OP is just stating his opinion. If you have something to say thats not just "you are wrong" or "FOO is not Fallout" then say it. But the guy wrote like an essay on his view. To just make a snarky comment is not constructive... Just don't post if all you have...

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

Nah I disagree, it may not be onpar with certain games, in certain ways, but to say its not onpar with modern games in gernal is rediculous. Your screenshots dont tell me anything. Sorry.

    SPECIAL in F3 - same as F1 and 2?

Yeah there is a perk early on that allows you to add 1 point to any of your SPECIAL sections. I think you can do that for a max of...5 or 10? I could be way off though, someone can correct me if so.

    Fallout 3 : A succesful re-branding

Yeah? thats good. Am i right about a different dev than Infinity Ward? As long as they dont mess with the main mechanics of COD4 it should be decent. I liked the "today" setting of COD4 though. I'm looking forward to Left 4 Dead though, as far as my online FPS fix is concerned. Demo came out...

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

So the game is subpar and the graphics are trash because there are no shadow effects? And there glitches? Making a world that large without glitches... you guys give no room for any sort of error. Its amazing.

Thoughts on FO3 (Spoilers)(32hours played so far)(LONG POST)

Yeah I agree with Sander. However both tactical/FPS and Turn-based gameplay have their place. I wouldn't personally consider one better than the other. They both involve skill. It'd be like comparing a chess player and a tennis player. (In a way, lol FPS players are in no way as fit as a...

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

No, Sander. I'm not pretending nor am I trying to see it in some other light or shade. Fallout 3, as a whole, looks amazing. The games you mention are fantastic in their own right but they all go about it differently. It seems as if you and others are pointing out what paid reviewers are...

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

Ehhh... so you name two games...and then say its not on par, pretty weak sander... Also, Assassins Creed looked great but it had invisible walls that outlined each region, so sure you could go everywhere but you had to load to do it... Where as Fallout 3 you don't... you see it, you can walk...

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

Oblivion had blooming, yeah but I'd argue it also fit the unrealistic world of Oblivion too. Just like there was a large amount of soft focus in the Lord of the Rings movies. Fallout 3 has no where near as much... but they use it in areas where it fits... They dont go overbaord like they do...

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

Half Life two looks great, as does its episodes, especially the second one. And Portal too. There is no doubt that Valve can make a good game. I agree. BUT they are different beasts entirely. I'd argue this "dated" engine in Fallout 3 can draw farther and look better than Half Life 2 episode 2...
  19. I

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

Exactly. The real feat is the draw distance of this game. Its pretty cool wandering the wasteland and seeing all the broken down highways and monuments in the distance. To say it has bad graphics is beyond me. Considering the age of the engine you have got to think that Bethesda is at least...
