    Fallout 3 tidbits

So the japanese game developers are only now finding out that the term jprg exist ?! :( Wait until they find out the jrpgs aren't rpgs and wrpgs/crpgs are only lite rpgs, meaning rpg elements in what what are essentially action-adventure-micromanagement/TBS-adventure-micromanagement...

How should an RPG be? Freeroam for ever like Fallout 3?

After almost 200 year it broke down, actually was "programed" to brake down.

How should an RPG be? Freeroam for ever like Fallout 3?

GTA IV meh not so, but San Andreas indeed has some RPG elements that surpass anything found in any Fallout game.

How should an RPG be? Freeroam for ever like Fallout 3?

    > ^ I'm not trolling, just pointing that no amount of fanboy talk will fill the holes in Fallout 1 and 2 and make them perfect, not logic. And no amount of maintainance would make 200 year old machines work, or their water-chips. You need to manufacture replacement parts or new machines...

How should an RPG be? Freeroam for ever like Fallout 3?

Fallout 3's quests are overall substantially identical in quality to Fallout 1&2, ... in that those games had more/way more "generic" dungeon crawls, monster/rat cave filler, and linear fetch quests than some fans want to admit (witch did send you from location to location a lot in F2, but not...

Funny and Stark Example of Beth's Laziness...

My idea would have been that besides a diary, it would also have to feature a "respawn" in bed to find out you only "dreamed" of killing you father and also a POP:SoT approach where the scene reverses the important NPC crime and presents it as just a hallucination. That's up to a point after...

How should an RPG be? Freeroam for ever like Fallout 3?

If every "dungeon" would have been filled with a boss/interesting revelation/cool item, than you guys would have been b*******, moaning and winning that it feels to much like Gears of War where the game constantly "assaults you", and that it feels weird that there's so much interesting stuff...

    How Power Armour Should've Worked

And plenty others, like smurf's mods (impact accuracy and physics) and gore tweaks ( from Mushroom Cloud).

    How Power Armour Should've Worked

Boys and girls (?!) I cannot believe you're not using this: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=117 and how about this also: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=68 http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=85...

    How Power Armour Should've Worked

Except that power armor is the very idea of video game lack of balance. Getting rid of it altogether would have "helped balance" the game.

    Inflexibility of Main Quest

I'd preferred to have had both the sandbox exploration and the F1/2 map mode.

What did Bethesda actually do better than Black Isle?

    Add high rez land also.

    Inflexibility of Main Quest

Not true. You can explore the map Oblivion style and get to River City via either Moira or Replicated man quest (or mindless wandering) and you can talk to Dr. Li (but I don't know what the check requirements are, just that it worked for me). Just remember exploration can/should be done...

    Inflexibility of Main Quest

I actually found river City via Moira and Replicated Man quest. I honestly had no idea that I suposed to go via GNR/Tree Dog. She talked to me too.

    Impressions thread for negative impressions

True the differences/definitive features between PnP RPGs and board war-games were in the people who decided to add characterization and social interaction, purpose outside of the combat and dungeons, multiple players had only 1 character each. If you were unfortunate to have a shitty GM...

    The Perfect Fallout...

Fallout 3 mods and/or Fallout 4 wishes Superficial stuff: - improved AI-path finding, fix bugs, improved animations, improved acting Important stuff: - SDK - more dialogs/options/choices with appropriate consequences - more conflicting factions/intrigue (Gothic 3) - kill-able...

    Impressions thread for negative impressions

The tabletop wargame-ruleset/format isn't the point/defining feature of a true RPG, as the feeling of immersion, the flexibility and the decisions/consequences the player is called to make. The wargame-ruleset/format preceded Dave Arneson's and E. Gary Gygax's Dungeons & Dragons. D&D was...

The Socioeconomic Fabric of Bethesda's PA-DC: Dumb

True, also all those virus-ed and/or mutated creatures would not exist.

Bethesda`s odd moral - karma (some spoilers)

Well I applaud you post, but some players truly can't deal with moral grayness.
