Thoughts on Fallout 5 taking place in Chicago?

I think the Windy City is a prime setting for Fallout 5. There's big areas for exploration and collecting, small areas for relaxing, settling down, and hunting, and potential in a nuclear wind hazard. Let me know what you guys think.

I have zero respect for Bethesda now

@Norzan So, do you just hate all the Bethesda games? I think they can fix the PVP, revamp some of their other systems, like player vending, and definitely stabilize it. It has great potential, they just shouldn't have rushed it out the door.

Can you really call yourself a Fallout fan if you love Fallout 4, honestly?

So, what makes the (or any Fallout game] game horrible? I'm willing to admit, easily, that recycling the Creation Engine was a terrible idea. They need to improve. It was revolutionary in 2008 with Fallout 3, but it's laughable now. Aside from that, I thought the story, even if it did change...

What is the purpose of this forum?

So, I get it. Fallout 76 didn't measure up. It failed. Big whoop. However, instead of pointing the finger at Bethesda for 'trashing' Fallout, why not come up with ways to improve it? not modding it or anything, but I'm sure if you sent solutions in earnest instead of sarcastic rants about how...

Can you really call yourself a Fallout fan if you love Fallout 4, honestly?

So. I understand that 4 really fucked with the other games and retconned a bunch. I'm not disagreeing. However, if you scrutinize it and hold it up against the game you admire most, of course it's gonna fall short. I prefer to think of the games as individuals, set in the same universe. In this...

    Unpopular Fallout Opinions

I really liked New Vegas, and it brought a lot to the table in terms of new ideas. I also liked the idea that it (sort of) bridged the gap between 2 and 3, as a kind of nod to the fans of both. I liked 3 the most, but I've got my Rose-Tinted T-45 lense mod on. I started on 3, so that may be why...

    Mark Morgan vs. Inon Zur

I'm going to be real with you, Chief. I really, really loved Zur's work. Morgan's pieces always came off as ambient noise. Most of it isn't music, and it doesn't really strike up an emotion. I get there was a time crunch, with unrealistic expectations, but I wouldn't listen to it on a daily...

I have zero respect for Bethesda now

Yeah, I never said it didn't. I was just saying it looked neat. I believe they do have some catch-up to do, they definitely performed poorly, I merely think that it's salvageable, or at the very least, they can redeem themselves.

    Best Fallout OST?

Maybe it's unpopular, but I loved Fallout 4''s OST the most. I've always been a sucker for compositions and orchestral pieces, and I feel Inon Zur has captured the feeling of instruments played post-nuclear apocalypse. He's got talent, and the Fallout theme is one of my most favorite songs...

    Unpopular Fallout Opinions

Fallout 1 and 2, while having a great story, and being a nice revolutionary game, have terrible graphics. I know for the time it was okay, but Interplay's style is what grosses me out most.

Was Fallout 76 saveable or was it doomed in concept?

76's planned content looks interesting, at the very least. Edit: The survival mode and Purveyor seem to be pretty interesting as well.

I have zero respect for Bethesda now

So, I agree that Fallout 76 is a massively low point, but I have hope for the future. The release was just a beta, but everyone can play, and they seemed to keep messing up in critical areas. However, I think they can get their act together. Some of the new 76 content at the very least sounds...

What is your take on the Pen and Paper Roleplaying game Exodus?

Exodus is a clear clone of Fallout, due to the fact that they were licensed to create a Fallout RPG by Interplay, but Bethesda said they couldn't use Fallout. What are your likes and dislikes?

How did you discover Fallout ?

When I first got into Fallout, I was obsessed with post-apocalyptic scenarios. Combine that with my inexplicable love for the 40s-50s era (music, memorabilia, style, you name it), and that was a recipe for the most awesome encounter ever. I had a friend in high school who had a copy of Fallout...
