    Ehm, where are the cities?

... now you tell me. Thinking i'd play the noble Shining example of Goodness for the wastes I went in guns blazin' like in Metzger's slave pen. I noticed that there's a disturbing lack of 'game', in this game. Without fast-travel, (which I abhor), it mostly consists of walking between points...

Just got done finishing Fallout 2. My take.

I may be a nerd and a jackass but you're smelly and have a huge nose. So nyeh nyeh. If you feel honest criticism of a game that's being heralded as the new gaming mesiah is 'whining', then I won't bother continuing the discussion with you. However. Since you brought up examples...

Just got done finishing Fallout 2. My take.

.. the inference being that there's not much to ruin? Dialogue in this game has already been attributed to the writing ability of monkeys on a typewriter, 12 year olds, and a number of less generous examples I wish I could remember. I did like that me refusing to pay 100 caps the first...

AI is incredibly stupid in this game

I never miss in VATS. Ever. However this has nothing to do with my skills or stats. The AI has an innate knowledge of where you are if you're within 200 metres and outdoors. Perhaps my character smells or something! So by the time I finally realise there's some enemy firing a torrent of bullets...

Speech Challange makes CHARISMA almost useless?

Charisma in Fallout 3 useless? I would say that except for Perception and Strength, EVERY stat is useless. The 'Gifted' Trait in Fallout 2 seemed to be as a balance for those who wanted a more rounded character (the everyman) and the only other stat improvements came with a heavy time price...

Just got done finishing Fallout 2. My take.

You know I tried to contradict you but I couldn't. I hate that fucking temple. @Burke I honestly couldn't tell if you were joking or not about the graphics in Fallout 3 being awesome. And those guns.. last time I checked, if a gun is being held together by duct tape then it's not going to...

Bethesda Defends "3" in Fallout 3.

*fingers in ears* LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU! .. this is exactly why I refuse to get my hopes up again. Eidos has my testicles in their evil metal claws, but i'll be damned if I'm going to let them think I ENJOY it. I truly was a Fallout 3 hopeful, even with the news that Bethesda was...

    Fallout 3 & SecuROM

I spent about an hour installing and tweaking my computer before I even *try* to load the game. I don't like playing directly from the DVD (damages them in the long run) so I take the natural precaution of an Image. That takes another hour to finish. Then I try to play, and wouldn't you...

Playing on Very Hard: It Means One Thing Only...

Less ammo. Well. As a primarily H2H player this sounds gosh-darn rediculous. Do they think they can limit the amount of 'knuckle' on my fists, or the 'sledge' on my hammer? I would facepalm but I just watched Gremlins 2.. and am all facepalm'd out.

    Fallout 3 is actually decent

Perhaps it's not just the engine, but the character animations. Dogmeat (big wtf for this one..) doesn't so much walk like a dog, but like that mechanical spider from Wild Wild West (.. which I now have the urge to watch). Everything's so stiff and, well.. average for a 'next-gen' game. And...

    Design Lesson 101 - Fallout/Fallout 2

Having just skimmed through the Fallout 3 Manual it would seem that Bethesda has without a doubt targeted this game at the 360 Generation. Taking the player by the hand is one thing.. carting him about in a wheelchair is another. I loved games that threw you straight into the action with...

    Fallout 3 is actually decent

I can't honestly think of a good thing to say about Fallout 3. Except that I happen to enjoy PA games and given the lack of greenery or the colour yellow (barring nuclear explosions and gunfire) it would seem that yes indeed, the game could be set some time after a nuclear holocaust.. or maybe...

[SPOILERS] Super Mutants in Fallout 3

There was a time, long before I began lurking the NMA forums (about 2002) when I was a genuine fan of Bethesda.. I mean their games were never as creative or innovative as Myst, or as totally engaging as Baldur's Gate but there was a certain amount of lore and background there that was enough to...
