well some good news. the manual install did work for fallout 1 which i am currently playing and am very happy about this fact. however, still no luck with fallout 2 (that's what i was really getting at). is there a manual install for fallout 2? btw, uninstall/install doesn't work.

one more note: The Fallout.exe has a picture of some random fat dude's head instead of the blonde hair PIP boy. also, the auto play screen doesn't give me the option to hit "Play" even after I've installed. that button stays grey.
