Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Yup, doing a run through the game now. Now keep in mind I'm playing the Plus Patch so maybe they added some functionality that does that. But right now, when I select a melee weapon, it changes the camera to 3rd person. And also, while in 3rd person I switch to a gun, it switches me to first...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

I mean, the game literally forces you to 3rd Person camera when you attack with a melee weapon.

Man, I really hope they do this. The devs did talk at length during interviews about how much reactivity the game has. So maybe they'll do that. Hopefully not to be sly or coy but actual reaction due to how the characters themselves act about these things. Make it organic and not forced. Hell...

When I read this, The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi sprang immediately to mind. :P Hey, I just said that. :P

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Well, there's Dead State, which is the most recent game of his I played. But it was about zombies and had a different tone than Bloodlines, but still plenty of absurd comedy. But we'll see I guess. He still has a publisher that he most likely has to listen to.

See, this is a case of someone being a bit overly-cynical. There's no evidence to say either way if he's changed, since I don't believe he was the one who made that comment about Malkavian insanity. Not sure though. Regardless, I think you're jumping the gun just a wee bit. IMO. :P Also, the...

For me the big positive is that Brian Mitsoda is the lead narrative writer and he is the reason the writing on the original Bloodlines was so good. So if he's on the project, I'm sure at least the writing will be good. They also have MCA on the team who is my favorite writer in video games. And...

Cain and Boyarsky are not on the team making Bloodlines. They'll be too busy with the public beta of The Outer Worlds on EGS for a year or so.

Um. Not sure in what way you're asking. Even PS2 had cross-play with PC with Final Fantasy XI. It's other consoles that Sony chose not to connect with. It's always been possible. And the only reason Microsoft has been pushing it is to seem like the good guy when historically they've always been...

I'm hoping the guns thing was just something misconstrued by journalists due to canned demo syndrome. Like maybe there is a specific context sensitive thing where the throwing a weapon away is only because you picked up someone else's weapon in the game, and when it runs out of ammo you throw it...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

In 5th Edition, Thin-Bloods came up with a new discipline called Thin-Blood Alchemy which lets them mimic abilities from other disciplines and stuff not from other disciplines like telekinesis and flying. 5th Edition also introduced Blood Resonance which is, I guess, how they're going to let...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

I'm getting the game regardless, but it's a mistake to not allow 3rd person options when the original did. Fans of the original are going to expect both. Assuming the devs themselves are fans of the original game, they should know better. They're probably doing 1st person only cuz of the low...

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

I'm hella hype. If it's gonna be like Bloodlines, it'll be a mix of first and third-person. So we'll see.

I agree with your final sentence. But I don't like playing first-person games with a controller. I prefer mouse/keyboard. Also, console FPS' tend to have low non-adjustable FOVs and they give me motion sickness. I have to play this on PC.

Steamworks isn't about DRM. It's tools that connect to their APIs I believe. Portal 2 on PS3 installs Steamworks on the PS3 so you can see your Steam friends on PS3 and do cross-platform matchmaking on Steam. It also unlocks steam achievements when you unlocked trophies on PS3 and you can upload...

Yeah, SteamDB shows they added Achievements as recently as 11 hours ago. So I'm reasonably certain they had no idea this was happening until everyone else did too. https://steamdb.info/app/578650/history/ At least I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. *shrug*

I hope no one is blaming Obsidian for this. This was a Take Two/Private Division decision. There was a post on reddit that says that even as of up to a few hours before the announcement, they had just added Steam Achievements to the game...

PC Stores The Outer Worlds is releasing on in 2019: Epic Game Store, Windows 10 Store PC Stores it's not releasing on in 2019: Steam, GoG, Origin, UPlay, OnePlay, Direct2Drive, GreenManGaming, Humble Store, et. al. Sure seems like an exclusive to me.

We're only talking about PC when it comes to shitty EGS. Consoles don't factor into the equation. And the only reason it's on Windows 10 Store is once again because Microsoft owns Obsidian now.
