Look no futher than Baldur's Gate: Enhanced edition. Year after initial release and the game is still riddled with all sorts of bugs. Fan mod RP is much more polished game even at this stage.

Locations and NPCs in Arcanum tend to be bit too generic sometimes and that's not the case in Fallout 2 really. Also if you want to play main story, it's not that hard to follow the thread. And if you want to experience thorough playthrough, then finding locations in F2 is also pretty easy.

Yeah, sorry for misinformation. I've actually reported on wiki, that even if you don't kill the deathclaws, the ending still kinda insinuates that you did.
