Yeah, the Ripper was really more of a vibroblade instead of a chainsaw. You'd swing once, blades would cut multiple times as you made contact. It's why you treated it like a normal knife in 1,2 and Tactics. Now it's just kind of "Hold still while I run at you with my arm outstretched!"

I just really hope there are more professional looking weapons. I like the cobbled together from scrap look of the pipe weapons, but it's really still digging into that "dirty steel" aesthetic that Beth seems to love for some reason. Also, why is double-barreled a mod? There's a reason why...

Well, if any weapons were going to be janky and break down, it should be things like the Pipe weapons. Low-tier weapons that gently encourage you to stop using them by being somewhat unreliable. Properly cared for weapons last a very long time. Especially things like revolvers and...

I think there's a way to balance the degradation/upgrade methods without leaning too hard in either direction. You look at a game series like Dark Souls. Each of their weapons has a durability stat in addition to being upgradeable. But, the only time you really have to worry about your weapon...
