In order to gain the full benefits of the Explorer perk (I wish to be able to get special encouters easier), does my main character have to have it or do I simply have to have a member of my party with the perk? Thanks.

I just got Fallout: Tactics and I am on Mission 3, in Macomb where you first get the hummer. I am having some problems regarding the use of the vehicle. a) How do I load more than one guy into the vehicle b) Where is the inventory c) How do I get out I know these seem to be stupid...
