    the Master: was he evil?

How many? And what were their roles in the original? It's my understanding that Cain, Boyarsky, and Anderson left to form their own company before Fallout 2 was finished. According to Cain, the marketing department at Interplay became aware of the Fallout project just before its release and were...

...and delivering them to Bethesda, which owns the "intellectual property" and outsources the niche markets and skims the cream. I respect your experience and that of Mr. Graves, and my qualms have far more to do with economics and morality than with gameplay. Whether one enjoys a game or not is...

    the Master: was he evil?

Isn't that the whole NMA raison d'etre? That's how I came to be here, anyway. When I saw Fallout 4 on the home page, I wondered whether I was in the right place. The scope of the site seems to have enlarged broadly in nearly 20 years. But, most of the archives are still there.

    the Master: was he evil?

Every time I play, I want so badly to share with her all the information I found in the Glow and the Military Base. In fact, last night I left some holotapes on the floor in the library's anteroom, hoping that she and Sophia would find them.

And made by people who really cared, some so much that they lost money working on it. Fallout shows what is possible when the marketing department doesn't know or care what you're doing. Once they got wind of it, it was all over.

I haven't played them. I don't want to. The original Fallout is the inspired word, 2 may be a sort of apocrypha (or a camp send-up, from what I've read), and the rest are clearly on the level of televangelism - made by hacks for very big corporations who like to make lots and lots of money.

    the Master: was he evil?

Of course, I meant "legion" in the sense of "a great number." I don't even know about Caesar's Legion beyond rumors. I'm a Fallout fundamentalist. There is no Fallout but Fallout!

So does Captain Beefheart exist in the Fallout universe?

Captain Beefheart exists in every universe.

    the Master: was he evil?

One of the things I love about Fallout is that it does invite us to critically analyze our conceptions of good and evil. The setting itself shows us examples of how people might behave in the worst possible circumstances, and asks us make our own choices within that context. I love the way so...

How did you discover Fallout ?

Thanks! I had read the article from kotaku, as it was cited by several of the other sources I'd seen. The IGN piece and the video were great, too.

How did you discover Fallout ?

Thanks for the welcome! I'm also fairly new to internet forums in general, and that seems to be the lion's share of the site's content. After twenty years, the amount of material here is daunting! I felt like I needed a button on the home page saying "Start Here." I do know it's bad form to...

How did you discover Fallout ?

In my case, the hype for Fallout 4 actually backfired. It looked cool, but I didn't want to spend $60 and I don't like the idea of going through the Steam checkpoint to play games I've paid for. Naturally, that means I'm acquainted with GOG, and when they offered 1, 2, and Tactics dirt cheap I...
