there's really no point in maxing out everything. 6 skills are combat related and you only need to pick one of those to be able to win fights. then there's the barter skill, which imo is a waste of skill points. caps aren't hard to get. next, there's medicine. just like caps...

i don't agree that repair deserves much praise. i find it very tedious. sure it's somewhat of a challenge in the lower levels, but it doesn't take that long where you're basically at 'shoot-shoot-shoot, loot-loot-loot', then repair your stuff. running out of space (weight limit)? then...

i sympathize wholeheartedly with all the points in the OP. it just sucks, that you except a fallout game, and get this oblivion like rehash/mod are the older player so outnumbered that the franchise can be so easily bastardized? it's an okay game if you have no idea what it's supposed to...
