So after all these DLCs... the Brush gun is still THE gun?

The protonic inversal axe has been my go-to weapon since leaving the Big MT. Kills most baddies in two swings, doesn't use any ammo, and provides a unique satisfaction in launching its victims 20+ feet in the air when it doesn't simply crush skulls.

    NCR Correctional Facility

I actually think there are pretty good answers to all of these in the game: --the trading caravans do a good job of circulating; it's not unreasonable to think they stop by every couple days to trade with merchants (even though we never get to see this interaction) --the NV strip hotels are...

    NCR Correctional Facility

Tenpenny Tower was probably the shittiest design in the entire FO universe. Seriously, a luxury hotel out in the middle of nowhere? It makes no sense at all. FO3 was a bunch of random shit that might be cool thrown together without much logic. FONV tried to create a coherent world in which...

If you love Dogmeat/Fallout,join the fight!

If I was wandering around the wastes rifling through corpses for spare ammo and murdering bandits constantly, I can see a big psychological benefit to having a companion animal. Something about Dogmeat in FO1 was really humanizing, and added a lot of depth to the game.

To me, Honest Hearts really wasn't that good...

There's a lot of the IRL environment that they misused. There's a small town right outside the park boundaries (but still in the canyon) that is actually about the size of Goodsprings and - no joke - has a burger place with bison in the back yard that serves bison burgers. Damn town screams...

To me, Honest Hearts really wasn't that good...

Interesting...I've actually had the opposite problem of most people. My character is around level 10 (on second playthrough), unarmed 100%, melee 80%, all guns <20%. the She quest was cake, and a nice bonus to get a kick-ass unarmed weapon. i was confused by the destination but after...

In my opinion Fallout 3 is truest to Fallout 1.

the president's speech at hoover dam really drove this home for me. i walked out onto the viewing platform, expecting to see hundreds of people- and judging from the layout of the area, so did the devs. what do i see? ten guys, maybe. more guards than spectators. WTF is this?? i think it's...

What will be the canon ending of New Vegas?

Except the only way New Vegas stays independent is if someone keeps running the Securitrons to keep the NCR from coming back over the Mojave. Even if that someone is Yes Man, there's still a leader and a head of NV, just as during the game Mr. House was acknowledged as the "owner" of the city...

What will be the canon ending of New Vegas?

I would say letting a stranger wander into a massive technological bunker directly underneath your headquarters that you suspect contains a giant killer robot without even checking on his progress is pretty stupid. It's pretty clear that Caesar cares more about his beliefs than himself or his...

    Bring Back Map Travel

FO and FO2 travel system were far superior to NV. FO3 worked a little better with this setup because it was designed to be within a limited metro area. FONV tried to return to the original FO model of having the hero travel over a huge geographical part of a state, which is really important to...

What will be the canon ending of New Vegas?

The best ending would be Caesar's Legion defeating NCR at the dam, if only for making a better sequel. Here's how it goes: the Legion crushes NCR at the dam and drives them across the Mojave, back to the Sierras and San Bernardino Mountains. NCR holds strong at the mountains, where the...
