In the original game, you can find the Master's diary entries, which are described as audio logs but only found in text. This is an attempt at producing the actual audio with my very limited knowledge of sound-editing and artificial voice-recreation.
I'm not a fan of auto-generation stealing...
Hi all. I recognised some people, but for any new people, I used to hang out here (Jesus five years ago now) and wanted to say hi. Anyway, I've turned up after all this time because I've set up a podcast with some friends and we recently discussed Fallout: A Post-Nuclear Role-Playing Game. We...
They're on the periphery of celebrity, so while a lot of their work is under-appreciated, they do sometimes develop cult followings. Well-deserved usually, considering that your average voice actor will do a ton more projects than an average actor will.
@Sgt. Dornan Peter Jason was in Prince of Darkness? And They Live? Damn this guy's been in cool films. I love actors like him. Character actors whom only the cult fans appreciate, but he's always great in everything he does.
@Gizmojunk I couldn't find any details on the behind the scenes of the...
But there you go right there. A criticism. When I was a theatre reviewer for a magazine, I was told a show couldn't get five stars if I cited any criticisms. You'd now be having petitions calling for your termination.
Thanks for the recommendation. Love a game with a sense of humour.
Do we know how and why there was such a great cast? It's not really brought up much in interviews with the developers.
EDIT: So Elder Maxson was a dog in the kid's TV show Arthur...
Bleep bloop. Yeah I guess I meant the Montgomery score. I'd probably agree with you, in that Fallout's ambient tracks have a character to them that I instinctively associate with the apocalypse. But Wasteland's tracks have this almost mystical quality to them that I like that Fallout lacks. They...
Oh cool. I wasn't aware of this archive.
I appreciate that a lot of the emphasis on casting in Fallout has been based on their previous voice work (or being on Star Trek). But yeah, just about everyone in the casts have prolific careers before and after.
Wait a minute, Tandi was Penny from...
Thread for talkin' about all the great voice actors over the years. We talk about Tim Cain, and Leonard Boyarsky, and Sawyer and Avellone and the developers and writers a lot, but I'd like to open a thread cataloguing all the voice talent who brought all the great characters to life. So who's...
Inon Zur is talented, and I love a lot of his tracks from New Vegas and Tactics, but you can mention a location in Fallout and Fallout 2, or name a track, and I can instantly hear Morgan's work.
EDIT: Do you know what the original argument should be? The original Fallout soundtracks vs the...
I saw an Insta post declaring various games as being impossible to criticise. I immediately criticised one of the games (Bioshock) and got the expected response. Gamers have a weird parasocial relationship with their games after years of never hearing criticisms against them. When a critic gave...
@Mr Fish It perpetuates the belief that reacting in a violent fashion to sleeping with someone trans is okay. Describing someone as a trap is making their very existence somehow deserving of violence because it makes out that they're being deliberately devious, instead of, you know, just...
I'm pretty sure people have been murdered because of the trap stereotype, so how about, you know, "Just cool it with the transphobic remarks."
Balthier from Final Fantasy XII. He's your typical anime pretty boy but he's also a sky pirate, so I'm all about that.
True, a bad painter would quickly go out of business. The frustration here is that huge corporations have a monopoly on entertainment so they can get away with whatever garbage they want to write. All we have in return are our wallets and collective criticism. But neither of those things will...
I would prefer the artist to try to "subvert expectations" over fanservice though. Seeing art as a product so you should just give the customers what they want leads to art becoming generic. I get your point; it sucks when things like SW go sh*t, but that's the price you have to pay sometimes...
That's a good point. Although if you're having to resort to saying, "it's muh artistic liberty" to defend your work you probably wrote a sh*tty work, so it would be kind of a given that the writer sucked at that point anyway.
I'd hope they create a wonderful new cast, but Fallout's always had recurring characters so...
I'd want more Legion. The Legion got shafted somewhat by New Vegas so it'd be fun to meet a few more of their characters and see them given greater depth. I actually think a character like Lanius has...
I was responding to RangerBoo's post. I get what you're saying, but I think it's a bit silly to assume an artist won't defend their work. There will always be a reason behind the decisions made, and you have every right to call out the reasoning as bad. I disagree with criticising "artistic...
