Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3.2 (Unofficial Expansion)

I have exactly the same problem (Same OS, same version of the game, same version of RP). Current thinking is that it appears to be some sort of issue involving the high-res patch and the new maps, but people are still scratching their heads about it.

Jeez, it's just a video screen.

Unfortunately using the legacy high-res patch has not fixed my issues with black maps. I can reproduce the problem by installing RP 2.3.2 with the legacy high res patch option given in the installer, opening the game, and then immediately hitting command-r and opening the denbus1 map. It's...

No dice, sadly. And without the high-res patch, the colors are all messed up again and fiddling with the options in ddraw.ini doesn't seem to help.

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3 (Unofficial Expansion)

After disabling the patch and setting Mode=4 in ddraw.ini, now the game doesn't load at all. On launch, it gives me an error message stating: The instruction at 10026e20 referenced memory at 00000000 The memory could not be read from

After using that program to disable the mod, then loading my game and going to the Den, I still get the same problem. Only, this time the map isn't black, it's pink because the colors are all messed up, presumably because the setting that fixed that was in the f2_res.ini file, which is a part of...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3 (Unofficial Expansion)

Well, I had to set GRAPHICS_MODE=2 in f2_res.ini in order to get the colors back to normal, but I don't know if that would have been necessary was the high-res patch not bundled with FRP. But no, I'm still playing with 640x480 rather than a non-default resolution. Anyone know how can I either...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3 (Unofficial Expansion)

With the FRP modded copy, if I move aside denbus1.map, load my savegame, and walk into the Den, I get the town map and I can walk around it (hooray!). I can successfully walk onto the denbus2.map.

As another data point, Umbra Village has the same problem. I just reinstalled the whole thing using the installer and got the same results. I'll try a manual install on top of the existing install and see if that makes a difference. If not, I'll try a manual install on a fresh copy of the game...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3 (Unofficial Expansion)

I'm having a problem with FR 2.3. My Fallout 2 is the GOG version running on Mac OS X 10.9.1, which is basically the Windows version wrapped up in a Windows XP WINE wrapper. I installed FR 2.3 using the Windows installer within the wrapper. The only tweaks I had to do to make the mod work were...
