1994, 2004, what about 2014 ?

So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs
Just connected the dots recently...

Tim Cain started to work on Fallout in 1994, as stated here.
In 2004, Interplay wanted to sell the Franchise. Troïka tried to buy it, but they were outbiden by Bethesda. Troïka cancelled their Post-apocalyptic RPG project and closed the next year.

Do you think something major will happen in 2014 ? Or is currently happening and we won't know until much later ?

you only have events attached to 1994 and 2004, and they are vague. Two vaguely similar numbers are not enough to form a pattern :D

Anyone can speculate though

Can't the previous hoax be considered? I mean, it was a well elaborated one and got the hype train moving.

Not enough data to make a statement.

I get what you mean, but this isn't about statements, but guess/theories.

- Those two fact are coincidences. Interplay didn't wait ten years to sell the franchise, as a nod to Tim Cain's work.
- Even if the franchise was 50 years old and something happened each decade "anniversary", there is no proof that something will happen in upcoming decade.
- Those two facts aren't about releases of games, but behind the doors activities. So we might talk about things that could be currently happening without any public knowledge for this. (like Beth hiring new writters or deciding to remove SPECIAL, or Tim Cain convincing Feargus to support a new post-apo IP etc...)

Tim and his partner might have a baby - adopted of course.

Isn't it in 2014 that Bethesda fully owned the rights? They couldn't remove the Fallouts from GOG before. But on 01/01/2014, something happened which allowed them to do that.

Indeed, we have something new on that *weak* pattern.

Not only Bethesda obtained the right to sell the old games at the very beginning of 2014, but they were unavailable for six months, increasing the fears of the
player community.

Turn out they just added high-res mod/sfall and a launcher for their logos. They even released the uncensored version of Fo2 in Europa.

Not mentionning the release of Wasteland 2, first time the two franchise will have to compete with each other.
