First of all, sorry about my english!!
I have played FOT a long time ago. I made few single maps (just for fun and for me, but with some bugs) years ago and I have played FOT again last week. I finished the campaign using a mutant squad (the main character, 2 supermutants and 3 ghouls). I would like to make something different.
I installed a mod to change the main character to another race, but I would like to make more changes, so I need a little help. To begin with, I am very newby about modding, so I only want to make easy modifications, that is the reason I would like to ask before starting modding anything, because I need to know if it is difficult or not.
So, there I go. I would like to make a more complex squad. The first thing I thought was about modifying the first map to put the full squad, for example: a ghoul, a dog, a robot and a supermutant. I think it is the easiest way to get what I want, but I need some more. I would need to introduce new armors, because a dog would be useless since we meet the supermutants, so I need to give it some armor. Same for a deathclaw. I don't know if the best way to do it is to give them some armors to use across the game or to make the armors available in other maps (in a selt or cage) or to put them into a vendor.
The other way to put those recruts in the game was about converting them in recruits after playing some missions. I don't know if this is an easier way to introduce them in the game. What do you think?
I have 2 more questions, is viable to use a +6 squad members? I know it is possible using a trigger or making the character available since the begging of the mission, but can it crash? And the last question, can I put in the game a no-common race to use? Some races, like the scribes of the headquarters can not climb ladders and they can only use some weapons, but I think that is not a problem.
After deciding what is the best way to introduce the squad, I will try to make it and I will search how to make it (there are some posts asking about things similar to this ones).
