WRONG.
ever heard of L.A.?
HEARD of it?!? I was born and raised there, and I've had to deal with this "L.A. sucks/the people are phony" bullshit my entire life. It comes down to this- most NATIVES are okay, outside of those standard assholes who live everywhere- and a WHOOOOLLLLLEEEE bunch of the issues people have with L.A. revolve around either 1) talking to non-natives who don't "get" the city (lots of those) 2) talking to non-natives who're living the Hollywood lifestyle and getting L.A. and Hollywood mixed up (BIG difference, btw), 3) talking to shithead natives (and considering the raw number of people, it's bound to happen), or 4) just plain not liking the "crowding", traffic or pollution.
But, eh, the city isn't for everyone anyhow. Don't want to live there- great. City's starting to run out of rental property anyway.
On topic:
I think it's great news, because I'm of the absolutely INSANE opinion that laws should apply equally. Plus, I am bi *cough*..... and though I don't really care much for the idea of marriage itself, horray for those who can get married if they want to.
I'm very afraid about the appeals, though, considering how heavily the administration packed courts with conservative judges. Sure, a lot of the CA state judges are elected, but I've voted quite a few in (well, okay, all that I've ever voted for) without having a CLUE where they stood on any issues.
