Can't Get Skeeter's Second Quest In Gecko?

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I brought him the tool kit but after that he won't ask me to get the plasma transformer. Is there some trick or stat reqiurment to get this quest.

I think it's been reported that you can't get this quest after repairing the reactor.

I talked about this in the patch thread. It is actually not a bug, but here are the details:

"There is no bug associated with this, but I think the reason the user reported this is because to get this quest you must not only have given the tool kit, but also be carrying one or all of the following weapons: 44 magnum, desert eagle, hunting rifle, assault rifle, fn fal, cattle prod.

If you are not carrying one of those weapons, Skeeter will not offer you his service for free and therefore you can never get the quest to bring him the plasma part. I will double check this all again, but this seems to be the case."

I am pretty sure that you're right, as I have done testing on this myself, out of curiosity. So you have a second opinion, for whatever that's worth. Kind of funny, though, when you consider that the quest is more or less pointless and yet is not easy to get.
 
Perhaps Per should include this new information in his guide.
I, for one, could not find any information on this. Not on these forums or on the net.

It's in my update notes, I noted it down when it came up in the patch thread.
 
Well actually you don't need him to give you this quest for completing it. Just return with the plasma thingie once you've delivered the super tool kit and you'll get the exp and the upgrade. You can even get the device from Jeremy by doing some talking even if you haven't got the quest.
 
Not sure if this helps but I turned in the tool box and it automatically turned in the plasma part without him ever asking for it you wouldn’t ever know without looking at the text log I got the experience for both quest but sadly was only allowed one weapon upgrade because of it
