Civilization VI; a return to the old style?

Artanis "Altáriel" Nerwen Nos Finwe
Total biscuit has doing a first impression of it btw, so if you have any doubt regarding the game before go watch it. I think, aside the graphic and some ahistorical choice regarding some civilization, its neat.

So far the only complaint;

- The Artstyle is bit too cartoony, also the animation of some leader looks very exaggerated

- Leader choice, i mean cleopatra and Catherine of medici really? though i like that they choose Trajan over Caesar

- Pre-order bonus thingy, again firaxis is gone full AAA

It does look more complicated at first glance. I don't like the fog of war that much though, its contrast is a bit too great with the known tiles.

okay, no more stupid warmonger penalty. Casus belli! :D (like Paradox games)

I'm not super hyped for this 'card system', and quests were tried in Civ IV - rare was the quest I finished. Now every tech* has a relevant quest; (but not obligatory), which might just end up being ignored for the most part.

The official OST is out! i'm glad the original composer from Civ IV is back :D

The game calls the USA civilization Americans? Don't they know that any civilization in the north and south americas is an american civilization like the Aztecs and Brazil? Are they just lazy and don't want to include United States of...?
Also the civ wiki says there is a Sydney Opera house wonder but there is no Australian Civilization?

Anyway, I can't watch movies but I took a look at the wikia and read a few articles. Aztect civ as pre-order seems cheap, but I always think pre-orders are cheap anyway :lmao:. Still seems interesting and I bet I would love playing it when it is out (If I had a machine to run it, that is :roffle:).

I am glad too, I loved Civ IV music .

Australia was never a vanilla nation...

Maybe it'll come in a DlC.

It's always been like that, IIRC.

its kinda funny that, the repack version already appeared before official release. But the download is just small.

One of the interesting comments from TotalBiscuit was this was the first Civ game he's seen since maybe Civ 2 that didn't feel like it needed an expansion to "finish" it. The core mechanics between games have changed significantly, and the core mechanics themselves are if anything, notably more complicated than it's predecessor. The combination means that even the vanilla version of Civ VI avoids the problem the previous Civ games have had where, due to missing features, they like they're cut down versions of the previous game and that you're better off going back to the previous version with all it's neat expansions.

Civ VI is sufficiently different that it's got a similar feel to Civ V, but you couldn't substitute playing Civ V for Civ VI.
