civillians macomb mission

twist

First time out of the vault
Just a quick one does anybody know if there is a way to pacify the unruly civillians in the macomb mission.
I've tried just sitting in the hummer to see if they run out of rocks and molatovs but theres always one guy who chases after the hummer who i end up having to kill.
Havn't tried throwing them food yet though. Any ideas?

I read somwhere that there is a reason you shouldnt but i'me not sure why.
But you're right shooting them is much more fun.

In other missions the civillians are friendly so if you kill them you'll earn a bad reputation (-100 points per civillian IIRC) but in Macomb they dared to attack a Brotherhood convoy (since when has one hummer been a convoy?) so they are fair game and you can kill them anyway you like.

Requiem, the breifing specificly states that that single hummer was cut off from the main convoy.

Bah, it's been so long since I read the mission brief. Still think they should of added some of the destroyed hummer tiles, and a few dead BOS warriors scattered around.

I always killed them because they attacked me first. They should know better to attack a armored vehicle with rocks.

Agreed: I think the folks at Mocroforte did a laughable job with Craptics.

The Official Stratergy Guide recomends just killing them and after everyone is dead to go drive the hummer around to the exit grid in a victory parade. Some of the Walkthoughs online I've seen advised not to kill them.
When I played the mission I slaughter all of the raiders except 1 snuck most of my squad past the one civilian that is by a gate with other civilians on a roof.
I keep having to have one of my squad members make a single shoot at a wall or other area. The one civilan by the gate will move to invistigate the gun shoot and then go back to spot he was at before the shooting. Was a major pain. When I had a way for the clear I just drove as fast as I could. I got chased by civilians and I drove to the exit grid. Had very little damage on the hummer. I had the squad members who weren't in the hummer in position so I could get them in the hummer as soon as the hummer got by them.
End results was I killed all the raiders but one and no civilians. I couldn't loot all of the raiders I killed too.
Another usefull tip is to move some squad members to the area by the end exit grid via the opening by the car in the garage door and take out the raiders by the exit grid and clear as much as you can with out alerting tjhe civilians. Don't destroy all the barricades in the street near the exit grid too. One of the barricades is near 3 civilians so when you destroy that one will go strart running after your character. So I left that one barricade intact.
Just be prepared to reload your game a lot and to spend a lot of time on the mission if you want to have no civilians killed.

They're set to a hostile Player Index so you can kill them with impunity. According to the debrief they all get sent to the slave camps anyway (IIRC) for daring to attack a brotherhood convoy, so by killing them you're doing them a favour.

Dog trainer

I've read somewhere that the dog trainer is here somewhere what truth there is in this i have no clue

no i read in a guide on the net about it but again how much truth there is to it i'me not sure.
To be honest it's more fun shooting them anyway.

Most 'guides' are full of shit.

And since Im pretty sure Per isnt gona waste his time with a Craptics guide...........

You must have read the Guiler's guide. The guide has some big errors in it I've discovered. The dog trainer in the mission comment was what someone made with no claims to back them up in that guide. I seen some contradictory statements and some that are totally wrong in it. Overall the guide is usefull up to a certain point. but don't believe everything in it.

I never kill them, but it takes some serious screwing around to accomplish this. First, just avoid the Austin Powers guy entirely. Then, the guy on the street, after he runs out of darts he will chase you. Lead him back to the little booth with the gate switch, let him follow you in, punch him unconscious, and then lockpick the door to lock him in. Its definately more trouble than its worth. Then you have to sneak around the rest of them and blow past the park by the exit with the hummer after unlocking the gate.

That mission kind of sucks. I think next time I will just kill them if they come at me.

After I killed the first batch of civilians (those that throw rocks at you from the roof, by the fourth gate) I noticed my main character had a Rank drop. Not sure why, since when I reverted the save, I figured he got demoted even before that.

Maybe it has to do with my killing the bandit blab by the second gate... The one that wants you to give him food.

It still doesn't explain how I lost a rank instead of a reputation level... (I am still a Defender)

And yeah, I killed him with forced fire on sight

Sorry read your post as rep drop not rank. Not sure you can get demoted, the actual mechanics for getting promoted are complicated enough and can't be simply scripted. I've never found a way to demote someone.
